S. Morry Blumenfeld, PhD.
Dr. Blumenfeld is responsible for evaluating the technological aspects of potential portfolio companies and assisting in guiding portfolio companies’ with creation of their strategic plan.Dr. Blumenfeld spent the last 27 years of his 35 year career with GE in GE Healthcare, the last four of which were spent as Managing Director of GE Medical Systems in Israel. Dr. Blumenfeld has considerable experience in developing and commercializing large scale diagnostic imaging systems as well as new image guided equipment to provide non-invasive and minimally invasive procedures. Among his many professional accomplishments, Dr. Blumenfeld was one of the managers responsible for developing GE’s computed tomography (“CT”) and magnetic resonance imaging (“MRI”) product lines, each of which now have annual sales over $1 billion.
Dr. Blumenfeld is a prominent authority on the development of medical devices including imaging devices and devices for minimally invasive procedures, and has advised or consulted with many medical research centers and universities in the U.S., Europe and Asia through his work on the CT and MRI systems and more recently with other medical device technology.
Samuel Cubac
Mr. Cubac is responsible for evaluation and monitoring of the financial aspects of portfolio companies of the Fund.Mr. Cubac began his career with GE as a Vice President with the Capital Funding Group in the US and after six years in that role, he moved to Israel and was hired as a Vice President of GE Equity, where he managed the Tel Aviv, Israel office of GE Equity. GE Equity chose Mr. Cubac to manage its limited partnership investment in ABS Giza GE Capital Fund II after GE Equity made a sponsoring investment in that fund. In addition, Mr. Cubac was responsible for managing GE Equity’s investment in Giza GE Venture Fund III were both global venture capital funds that invested in technology companies. Mr. Cubac served on the investment committees of both of those funds and was also part of the team at GE Equity responsible for choosing the portfolio companies of ABS Giza GE Capital Fund II and Giza GE Venture Fund III in which GE Equity would co-invest.
Eitan Machover
Mr. Machover will be responsible for the operational aspects, business development and M&A needs of the portfolio companies.Mr. Machover has held various position within GE including 7 years with GE Healthcare as General Manager of Integration and Business Development and previously held a number of positions with in the GE Commercial Financial Services Division. Mr. Machover has been involved in numerous strategic private equity transactions with GE Healthcare both in Europe and in Israel. Mr. Machover also served in the capacity of the National Executive for General Electric in Israel, where he was generally responsible for GE’s overall operations and growth in Israel. Mr. Machover continues to serve as a consultant to GE for their Israeli operations, continuing many of the same duties he held as the National Executive. Mr. Machover does not believe that his consulting relationship with GE creates a conflict of interest with the Fund and intends to continue his consulting relationship with GE. His responsibilities to GE do not include any duty to present potential investment to GE.
S. Charles O’Meara
Mr. O’Meara is Senior Managing Director – Private Equity with B.C. Ziegler and Company. In his role he is responsible for oversight of B.C. Ziegler’s private equity practice.Prior to his current position Mr. O’Meara held the position of Senior Managing Director and General Counsel of Ziegler, a position he held a at from 1993 to 2005. Among his duties at Ziegler are serving on internal committees which review and approve investment banking transactions and financial advisory engagements within Ziegler’s broker dealer subsidiary. Mr. O’Meara has served on a national committee of the securities industry commenting on new legislative and regulatory matters, and has given lectures for the State Bar of Wisconsin on securities law matters.
Donald I. Grande
Mr. Grande serves as Chief Administrative Officer of ZMEP responsible for investor communications and oversight of administrative activity related to the fund.Mr. Grande, a Senior Vice President with B.C. Ziegler and Company, has over 40 years experience advising clients in investment banking, corporate finance, tax matters and investments. He co-founded Grande, Schnoll, & Associates in 1991, a consulting firm in which he focused on problem solving related to debt and equity transactions, and bank relations. This firm became Glaisner, Schillfarth, Grande & Schnoll, Ltd., and then merged into a subsidiary of The Ziegler Companies, Inc.
